A quick trip round the Dales on Sunday, finishing with a walk up Trollers Gill,
I've still not managed to get a good shot of the gorge and the gill despite it being so stunning, like Gordale Scar its very difficult to capture the grandeur of the place in such a confined space.

18th Sept........Simons Seat......inn search of heather
Stunning light but interspaced with heavy showers as I climbed up onto the summit of Simons Seat from Appletreewick in search of heather shots. I got to the top and back in an hour and 15mins and just managed to catch a gap in the rain :-)
But I'm late this year and the heather has just about finished, with just the odd patch still in bloom nestling inbetween the rocks hanging on to the last.

I guess the pot of gold must be in that barn!! |

Saint Michael's Hospice, Harrogate
This clip explains better than any amount words can ever do, why we do what we do, and why we will be going to Everest in October. :-)

15th Sept........Stockton.... Infinity Bridge
7th Sept ............St Marys Lighthouse
A trip up to Whitley Bay to photograph the lighthouse proved an inspired choice by Mike, the sunset was amazing and provided us with perfect lighting conditions for photography.

1st September.................Wasdale weekend
With the St Michaels Everest BC trek looming ever closer I went over to
Wasdale for some much needed exercise and to get some more shots of "Britains'
favourite view"
The weather was pretty poor for making landscape images so I took a different view of the Dale and tried to portray its more usual moody intimidating character.
After taking my shots of Wastwater I walked up the remote and beautiful Upper Eskdale with the River Esk for company and the imposing mostly cloud covered bulk of Scafell and Scafell Pike dominating the view I saw only a couple of other walkers all day.
At this point the river is a series of spectacular waterfalls and canyons and a delight and privilege to photograph, and they get more spectacular and less accessible the further upstream you go.
